WattCarbon measures whether a decarbonization project actually worked, connecting to utility meter data and running hourly measurement and verification against standardized methodologies. Organizations spending money on clean energy projects struggle to prove what they achieved, which means they can't claim incentives, can't attract financing, and can't tell which of their investments were worth making.

Most carbon accounting is top-down estimation: a model saying a heat pump of this size in this climate should save roughly this much. That is not measurement, and it is why avoided emissions have never been treated as a financial-grade asset the way generation has. Metering the actual building, hour by hour, turns a claim into a record. Capital follows verified performance and avoids everything else. Without trustworthy measurement, the efficiency and electrification work that is cheapest to do stays the hardest to fund.
