Your contribution goes directly to companies selected through Decarbon8's member-led screening and diligence process. Decarbon8 is a tax-deductible philanthropic fund, administered by 501(c)(3) Realize Impact. Since it's structured as a charitable investment, anyone can participate, regardless of accredited investor status.

No. Decarbon8 accepts donations from anyone with contributions starting as low as $25.
The fund accepts tax deductible donations, contributions, and grants. You can contribute via multiple ways, at any amount, including: Credit Card, Check, Wire, Transfer of Securities, Donor Advised Fund (DAF), or Private Foundation Grants. Contribute here.
Yes, all contributions are tax-deductible. The fund is structured as a philanthropic vehicle, so your contribution supports cleantech innovation while providing a tax benefit.
Realize Impact, our 501(c)(3) partner, accepts tax-deductible contributions and recoverable grants for the fund and administers all investments from the Fund.
Contributions up to $20k are considered a tax deductible donation to the Fund. Any returns on investments in companies will be automatically reinvested in the Fund, to be invested in later rounds to increase your impact. For contributions of $20k and above, you may recommend re-investment of returns back into Decarbon8, or grant returns back to your Donor Advised Fund or a public charity. When you contribute you will be asked to confirm your preference for returns. Foundations or donor advised funds requiring a "recoverable grant" agreement in advance should contact Realize Impact.
