We started in 2006 as the Northwest Energy Angels, the first 501(c)(6) angel group in the United States focused exclusively on cleantech. In 2014 we became Element 8, shortened to E8. Oxygen is the eighth element on the periodic table: a catalyst for life, innovation, and the planet.

Today, we're a community of over 140 accredited investors, 180 portfolio entrepreneurs, and dozens of partner organizations. Our members learn alongside people who've been writing checks in this space for years, and build a portfolio that fits their own investment thesis.
