Automotus

Automotus uses computer vision to manage the curb. Its cameras see what is actually happening in a loading zone, which vehicles, for how long, doing what, and turn that into data a city can act on, plus payment and enforcement that need no meter and no app. Delivery vans, ride hail, and food couriers have multiplied on streets whose curbs were mapped for a world of parked cars, and no city knows in any detail how its own curb is used.

The cost of that blindness is measured in idling: vehicles double-parked, circling for a space, blocking a lane while a driver hunts. Price and code the curb to real demand and congestion falls, which cuts emissions from engines that were never moving anyone anywhere. The curb is one of the few pieces of public infrastructure a city fully controls and has almost no information about. Cities can't manage what they can't see.
