BlueWaterHouse buys multifamily buildings, cuts their emissions by 50 to 90% with a deep energy retrofit, renovates them, and holds them. Buildings account for nearly 40% of global energy-related carbon emissions, and the worst of them are ordinary apartment blocks that no one has any particular reason to fix. The owner isn't paying the heating bill, and the tenant can't authorize a retrofit.

Owning the asset resolves that. The retrofit and the renovation are one project, financed by the value they create together, so the emissions come out because the deal works rather than despite it. Most decarbonization of the existing building stock is structured as a cost someone must be convinced or compelled to bear. Structuring it as the return is a different proposition, and there is an enormous amount of building stock that will never be reached any other way.
