UrbanX makes renewable diesel and jet fuel from waste fats, oils, and greases: the bottom-of-the-barrel material nobody else wants, upgraded into synthetic crude and refined into drop-in fuels. Drop-in matters literally. The fuel goes into the same engines, the same aircraft, and the same pipelines, with no modification anywhere.

Aviation and heavy trucking are the hardest transport sectors to electrify, and the fleet flying and driving today will still be flying and driving for decades. Those engines will burn liquid hydrocarbons regardless of what anyone would prefer, so the question is which hydrocarbons. Waste grease has no competing use, no land footprint, and no food crop behind it, which is the objection that has dogged biofuel since the beginning. Feedstock is where this industry succeeds or fails, and starting from waste is the version with no argument against it.
