UbiQD

UbiQD makes quantum dots and puts them in a greenhouse film. The film shifts sunlight into the part of the spectrum crops use best, tuned by particle size during manufacturing, and retrofits onto the greenhouse that's already there. Every other variable in modern greenhouse growing is controlled, hydroponics, temperature, CO2, and the one that isn't is the color of the light, which varies by season and latitude.

The way to control spectrum today is electric lighting, which costs many times more to install and then burns power forever. A film that reshapes sunlight adds no electrical load at all. As climate pressure pushes more agriculture indoors, the energy cost of growing food indoors becomes its own problem, and the cheapest photon in a greenhouse remains the one that arrived free through the roof. The underlying materials work came out of Los Alamos and MIT.
