Carbon Quest

CarbonQuest captures carbon from buildings. Its system attaches to a building's existing natural gas exhaust, pulls the CO2 out before it reaches the atmosphere, liquefies it, and sells it into local industrial use. Large buildings burn gas for heat and power, and the standard advice is to electrify, which is expensive, deeply intrusive to occupied floors, and still leaves emissions on a grid that is not yet clean.

Carbon capture has been built for power stations and refineries, plant-sized equipment for plant-sized emitters, and no version of it was ever designed for a residential tower. Making it distributed puts it where a very large share of urban emissions actually sits, on buildings that will burn gas for decades regardless of what anyone would prefer. Selling the captured CO2 locally closes the loop and pays for the equipment, which is what determines whether any of this gets installed.
