PVComplete makes design software for solar professionals: a sketch tool for sales proposals and a CAD product built on Autodesk technology for the construction-ready plan sets, with project data passing between them so the salesperson and the engineer are finally describing the same array.

Solar projects get designed twice, once to sell and once to build, in different tools that don't speak to each other, and the gap between those two drawings is where the change orders and delays live. Neither drawing produces an accurate bill of materials, which is why there's no real marketplace for solar equipment: you can't price what nobody has itemized. Every hour of engineering and every construction surprise is soft cost, and soft cost is now most of what a solar project costs. The panels got cheap. The paperwork didn't.
