Triton Anchor

Triton Anchor makes anchors for floating offshore wind, built from helical piles and a skirt, installed by a subsea tool with a drive module per pile. The design works with any platform and mooring style, scales across a wide range of load, and is assembled from small components that can be manufactured near the port instead of at a specialized facility and shipped.

Floating wind reaches the deep water where the wind is best, and it needs an enormous number of high-capacity anchors that currently come from low-volume production a long way from the wind farm. Helical piles hold in bearing rather than friction, which in sandy soil is far more efficient per ton of steel, so the anchor is lighter, cheaper, and faster to install. It also keeps chain off the seafloor, leaving the habitat alone. Every offshore wind project starts on the seabed, and this is the part that has to work first.
