Most climate capital still flows to mitigation. In 2023, adaptation and resilience drew roughly $65 billion worldwide against $1.78 trillion for mitigation, under a tenth of the total, even as extreme weather and strain on grid, water, and food systems keep rising. Resilience is the work of adapting to changes already underway, and it stays underfunded as the need grows.

For NY Climate Week, we're putting climate resilience in the spotlight. Join us for a morning on why early-stage climate resilience companies deserve more funding.

We'll be joined by Arindam Bhattacharya, Managing Partner at Tailwind Futures, to talk through the trends in resilience innovation and investing.

Following, entrepreneurs across climate resilience will give short talks on what they're building:

Who it's for

For investors: See the climate resilience companies building solutions, and meet the angels, funders, and entrepreneurs shaping early-stage climate investing.

For entrepreneurs: If you're building in climate resilience and working out how to fund it, come learn how alternative and philanthropic capital works and connect with investors backing this space.

E8's 2026 Decarbon8 round is themed Climate Resilience, and final investment decisions will be made on September 1. We come in having worked through this year's full applicant pool of 158 climate resilience companies, with a current read on who is building in the space and where the trends are headed.
