Membership & Venture Associate Position


This role is for an entrepreneurial, service-oriented professional excited to be a part of a growing, innovative cleantech investment community.


E8 consists of over 125 Member families and companies, with a concentration in the Northwest but rapidly expanding across the US, Canada and overseas. Continued membership growth is expected given enthusiasm for cleantech investments, strong climate policy drivers, and greater accessibility via online meetings.


The Associate’s primary responsibility is to support deal flow, membership engagement and marketing and communications. Primary tools include event management and email marketing software and our deal management platform. Primary relationships include the Executive Director, and the part-time Program Director and Marketing Manager, as well as contact with the Board of Directors.


Your responsibilities will include:


Deal flow administration and member engagement

  • Assist with organization and execution of deal screening and pitch events

  • Support research and diligence review with deal teams and technical Fellows

  • Maintain company data and communications via our deal platform


Membership management

  • Drive and track member engagement (e.g. attendance, participation and investment)

  • Support Member emails, communications and contacts

  • Onboard new members

  • Maintain Member contact info and data, including profiles and skills data

  • Track Sponsor engagement and benefits

  • Manage angel investor education events and resources


Marketing and communications

  • Manage deal and education session video library and clips

  • Monitor and tell the stories of E8 portfolio companies

  • Social media support and channel management


Additional Administration and Operations as needed


Attributes & Qualifications


  • Excitement at the prospect of working at a small, growing, entrepreneurial social enterprise

  • A self-starter attitude and the ability to work with guidance but also independently; an interest in tackling both programmatic and administrative tasks

  • A knack for storytelling and impact, with demonstrated excellence in writing; basic or better video management or editing desirable

  • Science literacy a plus, especially in resource efficiency, climate or cleantech

  • An interest in customer service and stewardship; client or membership experience a plus

  • Strong computer skills with MS Office (e.g. Excel), Zoom, Dropbox, and software for contact management, email marketing and social media required

  • 2-6 years work experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

This is a full time, exempt staff role at E8 with salary range of $60,000-$75,000 per year. The role is based in Seattle, with a concentration of staff and events in the region, though especially strong West Coast remote candidates will be considered. Benefits include 3 weeks of paid time off (with holidays), an annual team performance incentive and a health insurance package. E8 staff works virtually, with shared office space available for teamwork and meetings; E8’s membership engagement features a mix of virtual and in-person meetings.
