JEFF CANIN:  Board Member, E8 Fund Manager

Jeff Canin has a long career in financial services and venture capital where he has worked extensively with IT, energy technology, and materials science companies. He is presently engaged as an independent consultant, providing financial and business development advisory services to early-stage companies and university technology commercialization spin-outs.

 

A significant proportion of Jeff’s time is involved as a co-founder or advisor to a number of early-stage startups in the water treatment and bioenergy fields.

Jeff, along with Lars Johansson and Sue Preston, manages the E8 Fund, which was launched in 2015.

He has served as Entrepreneur in Residence for Oregon State University, the University of Washington, and Washington State University. Previously, Jeff was a venture capitalist with eFund LLC and US Venture Partners, and a stock analyst with Hambrecht & Quist and Salomon Brothers.

 

Jeff earned an MBA in International Business and Marketing from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Business and a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and Economics from Brown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
