INVEST FOR IMPACT
E8 OFFERS MULTIPLE WAYS TO INVEST FOR CLEANTECH AND CLIMATECH IMPACT
You have the passion to personally invest in a clean, sustainable world and a healthier future.
You want to give back and support entrepreneurs and businesses aligned with your environmental values.
You want to make a direct contribution - whether from your philanthropic dollars or your individual investment funds - to promising enterprises which will move the needle on decarbonization, on climate change solutions, and on environmental excellence.
At E8 we share your passion, values, and goals; we are kindred spirits on a common mission.
And E8 offers multiple pathways for people, both local and around the world, to invest in a prosperous and sustainable planet.
For accredited investors who want to invest their own funds in promising, early-stage cleantech companies,
E8's traditional angel investing membership is an ideal way to seek both environmental and financial returns.
And to do so alongside some of the best and most fun cleantech minds in the ecosystem.
E8 members are fun, collegial, interesting, enlightening seekers of impact.
You have a passion for accelerating decarbonization and climate solutions, for creating a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet, and for helping to create profitable market solutions.
And you'd like a hands-on, up-front invitation to the action.
You understand the risks and the benefits of early-stage investments, and find it a fun and exciting challenge to spot the most promising.
You value shared analysis, but want the freedom to make individual investment choices.
You seek out smart, interesting, curious minds from fascinating and myriad backgrounds.
E8 members share a commitment to solving for the long term health of the planet, not simply the short-term pursuit of quick returns.
We seek opportunities that will be profitable while taking on the challenges of sustainability, cleaning the environment, reducing carbon and other greenhouse gases, and tackling the implications of a changing climate.
That's where the fun is! That's where the impact lies!
We assess early-stage companies and innovations on their potential financial, environmental, and social returns, each weighing the mix against our own individual goals, and each making our own investment decisions.
We screen companies together, subsets of the membership undertake objective and insightful due diligence together, and we all share our knowledge and insights.
E8 members come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience. Many are successful entrepreneurs themselves, or have a proven history of successfully building and leading companies from across all sectors of the economy. Some bring a rich set of experience and skills in a key sector of clean technology. All of us have a desire to invest our time and funds in changing the future.
We are part of something bigger than ourselves, and our passion to make a difference drives us.
If you are an accredited investor who wants to play some part in that, we invite you to be a guest to one of our member meetings. You can attend in-person if you live in the Puget Sound area or via live-streaming if you live elsewhere.
Simply fill out the Connect with E8 pop-up box or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In return, you will receive an email invitation to register for our next member meeting.
We will be delighted to welcome you!
E8 HAS MEMBERS ALL ACROSS THE US AND CANADA
As a mission-based angel group, E8 serves like-minded investors all over North America.
While most of our members live in the Greater Puget Sound Area and attend meetings in person, E8 has several members elsewhere in the US and Canada who join our meetings and listen to the company pitches via live streaming. Questions are welcomed and taken from all members, both in-person and remote, using an online tool for audience interaction. Due diligence, company screening, and other collaborations can easily take place using a wide variety of inclusive technologies.
What is an accredited investor?
This is a term defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Many securities may only be offered to investors meeting the definition. This is intended to better protect people who do not have the income or net worth to absorb the inherent risks of investing in early-stage companies. There are many rules affecting private placements, and E8 must - and does - abide by them.
Individuals are accredited investors if they have a net worth, or joint net worth with a spouse, in excess of $1,000,000, excluding primary residence, and/or individual income in excess of $200,000, or joint income with a spouse in excess of $300,000, in each of the two most recent years and a reasonable expectation of reaching the same income level in the current year.
