OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2006 as the Northwest Energy Angels, E8 was the first angel group in the United States to focus exclusively on clean technology and sustainability. We knew then that today’s pressing climate and economic problems could not be solved with ‘business as usual’ – not in technologies and not in funding sources.
Today, E8 is well-known and respected across the continent as the ‘first place to go’ when seeking experienced, connected, knowledgeable – and passionate – early stage funders of cleantech.
The eighth element is oxygen and we adopted the name Element 8 in 2014 - now abbreviated to E8 - to reflect our passion for breathing much-needed life and clean air into our economy, our communities, and our planet.
Oxygen is a catalyst for changing states – as are we.
