Brammo

In January 2015, Brammo was bought out by Michigan-based Polaris Industries.  In the announcement of the purchase, Polaris said:

“Polaris is acting as a leading investor in a recapitalization of Brammo that enables the company to focus exclusively on the design, development and integration of electric vehicle powertrains.”

Brammo Inc., designs and develops electric motorcycles, including the award winning Enertia® and Empulse®. The Enertia has reached speeds of 105 miles per hour, with lithium-ion batteries that give the equivalent of 480+ mpg-e.

Brammo started producing gas-powered, four-wheeled performance vehicles in 2002, but transitioned to electric motorcycles in 2007. They now have vehicle distribution and marketing operations in North America, Europe and Asia.

To demonstrate the power and performance of their vehicles, and to test new and innovative designs for production models, Brammo has a world leading electric race team and is both the reigning TTX eGrandPrixWorld Champion and the North American Champion.

Brammo is also a supplier of its innovative Brammo Digital Drivetrain® systems to other equipment manufacturers, including theBrammo Power® battery pack and Brammo Power® vehicle management system.

Element8 investors were attracted to Brammo by the experience of the management team, the quality of their strategic plan, and the emerging market for electric vehicles.
